Chembra Peak, Kerala
Near the town of Meppadi, and 8km south of Kalpetta is one of the highest peaks of the Western Ghats and the highest peak of the Wayanad Hills - 2100m above level is the Chembra Peak.

The scenic beauty of the place is unbeatable. After the long tiring trek nature does not forget what you need the most - the lush green grass is there to welcome you where you can just lie down and relax. The Chembra peak is visible from all the parts of Wayanad.
Trek Facts:
There are a few important things which you should know before going to Chembra Peak:
One has to take prior permission before going for a trek
Overnight camping is not allowed
Avoid the trek in the rainy season
The charges for a group of 10 people is INR 500 for the nationals and INR 1000 for the foreign tourists
The entire trek will take around 3 hours till Chembra peak. On the way to the peak, you will also see the heart-shaped lake - which is known as "Hridhayathaadkam". The lake has never dried up.
From the top of the Chembra peak, you can see - Kozhikode, Malappuram and Nilgiri districts. Though there are various peaks around Chembra - they are really difficult to climb as they are covered with dense forests.
